History
User Voice was founded in 2009 by Mark Johnson, an ex-offender and former drug abuser, best-selling author of Wasted and social commentator.
Mark’s experiences of prison, and later as an employer of ex-offenders and consultant, left him convinced of the need to create a model of engagement that is fair and incentive led.
His aim was to foster dialogue between service providers and users that is mutually beneficial and results in better and more cost-effective services.
User Voice received its charitable status in 2010 and has already undertaken a range of projects with social services, the secure estate, drug & alcohol services, probation trusts and prisons, as well as focusing on specific groups such as young people who are excluded or ex-service personnel.
