This work is aimed at engaging the media, the public, practitioners and policy makers by creating opportunities for them to listen to voices often unheard.

  • User Voice Conference 2013: ‘A Marketplace of Ideas’: Our event in Parliament on 9th October 2013 where User Voice volunteers and staff shared ideas and enthusiasm for Service User engagement with MPs, Members of the House of Lords and leading figures in Criminal Justice institutions and the Third Sector.
  • Excluded Youth Project: What’s Your Story?: Nationwide consultation with over 600 excluded young people about their experiences of youth justice which culminated in an event with senior policy makers in Parliament.
  • Home Affairs Select Committee: 7 young offenders gave evidence to the committee as part of their inquiry into the government’s approach to crime prevention.
  • Cabinet Office Roundtable: 10 school children with experience of the criminal justice system attended a roundtable discussion with politicians and senior civil servants.
