User Voice help produce new guidance for NHS England health and justice service commissioners

User Voice have been involved in producing a new guidance document on patient and public participation in health and justice to support commissioners to better understand the needs and wishes of their service users.

The new health and justice participation framework is part of a suite of documents developed to strengthen patient and public participation in all of NHS England’s direct commissioning activities.

Developed in partnership with the health and justice commissioning teams, service users, their families and partner organisations, the framework includes good practice examples and links to resources and organisations.

User Voice’s Chief Operating Officer Daniel Hutt acts as the chair of the Health and Justice Stakeholder and Lived Experience Strategic Advisory Group, which is working nationally to embed the involvement of patients in secure settings, including prisons.

The group is now evolving and is looking for more service users to get on board to help ensure that all healthcare services take into account the patient experience. NHS England are currently seeking to recruit Patient/Public Voice members to the group.
