User Voice conducts review of smokefree policy

Charity commissioned to look at effects of policy in prison

User Voice has been commissioned by NHS England in partnership with Public Health England and Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service to conduct a service user-led review of the implementation of the smokefree policy within the closed prison estate in England.

Over the next six months, User Voice will be engaging with criminal justice system service users in some prisons and on probation across the country to find out what has worked and what hasn’t, as well as gathering service user insight on how best to sustain the change and ensure services support men and women in prisons to live in a smokefree environment.
