DUNIA

Dunia Shafik is a visionary leader, certified life coach, and social entrepreneur with a deep commitment to supporting families affected by the criminal justice system. Drawing from her own lived experience as the mother of a son serving a life sentence, Dunia has transformed personal grief into purposeful action.

She is the founder of A Life of Choices, a community interest company (originally established as a social enterprise) dedicated to empowering mothers of children who are in prison or impacted by the criminal justice system. She also founded Manhood from Within™, a CIC that supports men and young men at risk of or affected by incarceration. Dunia delivers the Manhood from Within™ CPD-accredited program, which guides participants through a healthy transition into mature masculinity while helping them heal the younger, wounded parts of themselves.

With a master’s degree in Youth and Community Work, and credentials as a trainer, NLP Master Practitioner, and certified One of Many™ coach and trainer, Dunia takes a holistic, trauma-informed approach in all her work.

She is a sought-after speaker, advisor, and changemaker, currently influencing policy and building grassroots movements through partnerships with public services and international foundations. Her mission is rooted in healing, empowerment, and prevention—championing a future where families are supported, voices are heard, and cycles of violence are broken.
