Matt was a Parter at EY, the Big 4 consulting company, where he worked for nearly 20 years until 2025. Before that worked as a consultant at A.T.Kearney and as an internal consultant at Yorkshire Water. At EY, he led the incubation and growth of the UK People Consulting practice and the global Organisation & Workforce Transformation practice. He was a member of EY’s UK Government and Public Sector Board and led EY’s work with the Home Office and Ministry of Justice. He has worked for over 20 years to help scale up social-impact entrepreneurial organisations and to support social mobility, including by increasing the volume and impact of volunteering at EY. He was also a Vice President, Board and Council member of the Management Consultancies Association.
Matt initially worked on a pro bono basis with User Voice in 2019 and joined the Board as a Trustee in 2021. He believes strongly in the importance of designing and running public services to meet the needs of users, and the critical role that user insight and lived experience has in informing this. This is especially true in the Justice system, where User Voice pioneered and still leads in this area.
