For the first 20 years of my working life, I was a primary teacher, and I also taught drama at a performing arts school at weekends. In the latter part of my teaching career, I worked in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU), with children who presented with a range of emotionally challenging behaviours and additional needs.
In 2018, I had some personal experience of the Criminal Justice System and after this experience, the desire to help others who had been in a similar position led me to a new career path. My first role was for St Giles Trust as a “Meet at the Gate” Caseworker and went on to be an Accredited Programmes Facilitator for the National Probation Service. I started at User Voice in 2023 as a Lived Experience Consultant in the Midlands and my current role is Training and Development Manager.
I joined User Voice due to my own Lived Experience and the desire to make a positive impact on both individuals and the Criminal Justice System as a whole. Working at User Voice is a key part of both my personal and professional journey, and it is a privilege to be working with such a like-minded team.
In my spare time I like swimming, reading, running, and exploring new places.
