At User Voice we envision a society where the justice system becomes truly receptive to the views of those impacted by it, and genuinely rehabilitative focusing on work, education and tackling the root causes of crime.
Our 2024 in numbers:
- We worked in a third of prisons in England with a total of 10,921 people engaged in research, consultations and prison councils.
- We worked with 8 commissioners of our services including NHS England, HMIP, Sodexo and the Cabinet Office.
- We conducted 4 HMIP Thematic Reviews.
- Collaborated with 2 universities as partners in academic research.
- We completed 58 research projects working with 7,400 people in the justice system.
- We trained 105 Volunteers who have supported our insights work.
- 42 prison council proposals for improvements were accepted and implemented by the prisons we work in.
- 88% of Council Members across 6 prisons said that they had developed much needed skills since joining their Council.
